Coach Jarrod Hickman enters his ninth year of coaching and his third as the Florida High Seminoles head coach. Jarrod is a graduate of Florida High where he played for his dad, Mike Hickman. He was a four-year starter in football, three year starter in basketball, and two time defending state champion pole-vaulter selected to the All Big Bend, All District and All State Football Teams as a senior played in the North- South All Start Football Game. He received a football scholarship with Appalachian State where he played for one year, before transferring to the University of West Georgia. While at West Georgia, he was a third team all conference player. Jarrod started on a 10-2 conference championship team that advanced to the national playoffs. Coach Hickman is also the Boys and Girls Track head coach. In the past four seasons the boys have won one District Championship and have had several Regional and State Qualifiers. The girls’ team won the State Championship in 2003, 2005, and 2006. In the summer of 2004, Coach Hickman had the honor of coaching the wide receivers in his first All Star Football Game, Florida vs. Louisiana.

             Coach Hickman is entering his fifth year of teaching and has moved up to teach high school personal fitness at Florida High. Jarrod’s wife Angie is a physical education teacher at Killerarn Lakes Elementary. They have one son, Brooks, who is two and a half years old.
